Electronic waste, e-waste, e-scrap, or Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) describes loosely discarded, surplus, obsolete, or broken electrical or electronic devices.

Electronic waste or e-waste is obsolete, broken, or unwanted electronic equipment-computers, laptops, TVs, DVD players, mobile phones, mp3 players etc.. While there is no generally accepted definition of e-waste, in most cases, e-waste comprises of relatively expensive and essentially durable products used for data processing, telecommunications or entertainment in private households and businesses.

It is categorized into three categories, large home appliances like washing machines, refrigerators, IT and telecom like PCs, laptops and mobiles and small consumer equipments like toaster, mixer grinder etc.
